Precious Heart's Romances K.R.Y Trilogy by Marione Ashley

It was last Friday when I first heard of the K.R.Y Trilogy, (K.R.Y meaning the Korean names of the characters in the books, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung who are real life Korean Superstars.) And knowing me being an ELF or Everlasting Friends the fandom of Super Junior, I immediately planned to buy it the next day but some reasons came up, and my sister and I had to postpone it on Sunday. I was thinking in whether I should go to SM Mall of Asia which is about an hour and a half away from here or SM Dasma. I got my set of books last night, with a pair of aching feet and an empty wallet.

A picture of the trilogy. The picture is mine as you can see the print on the lower right side :))

The books seems to have a pattern that has to do with seven years. I came to a thought that it might be because Super Junior is on it's 7th year now, but of course, what do I know? The author has a question for all her readers, asking what the reader thinks K.R.Y means to her.The readers will find out as they read the novels. She also advised not to read the epilogue of the book in order to keep up the thrill. You can tell the author by tweeting it to her or through the never dying facebook.

The order of the books follows the order of the names in the acronym, K.R.Y, thus first book is about the 'K' in the acronym, Kyuhyun and the rest follows after. The title of the books are adopted from the main character's solo songs in real life. First book was "Seven Years of Love" which focus on Kyuhyun or Marcus in the book. Second book was "If I Love You More" which centers on Ryeowook or Nathan in the book. The last one was "It Has to Be You" (The book about my bias, Kim Jongwoon or his stage name, Yesung. Need I say more?). His English name is Jerome thus his name in the book.

Seven Years of Love is about Marcus Cho (Again his Korean name is Cho Kyuhyun) a member of a famous South Korean band Sapphire Blue (which is ELF's fandom color.) who loved a girl named Joanne back when he was still in the Philippines. He promised to himself he wouldn't hurt himself once again by coming back to the mentioned country. But some rumors break through South Korea, he had to come back to the Philippines once more with some of his band co-members. Upon returning he once saw Joanne again, his feelings came back, and once again he wants Joanne back in his life, but this time Joanne was not free anymore like she used to seven years back then.

The second book, "If I Love You More" centers on Ryeowook or his name in the book, Nathan. In this story, Nathan had his friend help him into changing his looks for a girl he likes. His plans went accordingly, that is until he fell in love with his friend named Lyn (coincidentally, Lyn is one of my nicknames. Lol. Fangirl mode) the moment he saw her smile differently at his cousin's best friend, Vincent which is one of Super Junior's member Sungmin's English name. But when the time came that he was supposed to confess to her, Lyn suddenly disappeared. Seven years later, they once again saw each other. The question remains on whether this time he would still be friend-zoned by Lyn.

Lastly, the third book "It Has To Be You" is focused on Yesung or Jerome in the book. In this one, Jerome used to think music is everything to him until he met the female lead Cher. Although Cher doesn't look 'that' good, (the author described her as 'mala-Sadako', meaning Cher looks like Sadako, a fictional antagonist who is commonly pictured coming out of a television screen.) Jerome liked Cher despite her 'maala-Sadako' looks. But Cher was aloof, she was distant but of course my Jerome here found a way to get to her, and once he did he then taught her the ways of love as Jerome wanted Cher to love him back. But Jerome became blinded by his dreams of becoming a musician, Cher and him had to separate. Following the pattern, of seven years, Jerome and Cher met again. Jerome immediately realized he still loves the once returned Cher. Despite Cher's anger, Jerome made up ways for Cher to love him once again. Everything was going well, or so he thinks it is until Cher's fiance came into the picture.

I got my books at Precious Pages store in SM Mall of Asia, commonly known here in the Philippines as MOA beside Carat World. Upon entering the store, I immediately looked to my right while my sister and one of our friend  ran to a shelf, there was still quite a lot of books stocked in there I think, since I didn't had that much chance to take a look. Seven Years of Love and If I Love You More costs 37 pesos while It Has To Be You costs 40 pesos. I think it costs more than the first two because, it's somehow, a special edition 144 paged book. I'm not sure since I haven't read all of them.

The author herself is an ELF, I personally liked her author's note, it was quite funny. You would really relate to it if you are a KPOP fangirl.
